Did You Know....

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has established a pension program that provides financial benefits to veterans, or their surviving spouses (married to Veteran at the time of death), with non-service connected disabilities. The pension pays for personal care and attendant home services for those who qualify.

Did You Qualify?

If you are a veteran who has served at least 90 days on active duty, with at least one day of service during a period of war, or the surviving spouse of such a veteran, you are in need of assistance at home due to your disabilities, and you meet the VA’s maximum income and asset limits, you may be eligible for the VA’s “Aid & Attendance” non-service connected disability pension. (qualifying service times are listed below)

WWII

Served 90 days of active military service with at least one day between December 7, 1941 and December 31, 1946.

Korean War

Served 90 days of active military service with at least one day between June 27, 1950 and January 31, 1955.

Vietnam

Served 90 days active duty with at least one day between August 5, 1964 and May 7, 1975 or between February 28, 1961 and August 5, 1964

Persian Gulf War

Served 2 years active duty with at least on day between August 2, 1990 with no end date yet set.
